Chloe Benefit Wrapup

Jan 21st, 2008 by Valerie | 0

I just wanted to send out a special thanks to all who participated in the benefit for Chloe. Portraits were taken by me in Colorado and by Erica Spencer in Michigan. Erica was able to raise $850 in Michigan and in Colorado I’ve donated $698.50 with $100 promised and three more sessions scheduled.

This is the first benefit I’ve done and it was a great experience. Thanks to everyone–it was really a privilege to work with you, send some donations to Chloe’s family, and what was an added bonus for me: learn more about photography.

Here’s a thank-you note from Nichole, Chloe’s mom: “thanks to everyone who participated in the photo benefit for Chloe. You helped make our Christmas 2007 a blessed and memorable one.

Love and prayers for all of God’s best in 2008!

The Korson Family,
Jason, Nichole, Noah and Chloe

If you are a member of LinkedIn and you would like to give Erica a thumbs up for her photography, her page is at http://www.linkedin.com/pub/4/26/8. I’m sure she’d appreciate it!

Thanks again!

Here are the first portraits that were done as part of the benefit for Chloe. I’m going to add more as I get them done.

UPDATE: People have been interested in Christmas cards, so I put up a gallery of the card templates that I have. This gallery will be easiest to view over a high-speed connection. My apologies to any dial-up users. There is also a card I did yesterday in the gallery in this post.

GET A CUSTOM PORTRAIT: BE PART OF THE MIRACLE

I am doing a benefit fundraiser for Chloe Korson, the daughter of a close friend in Lansing, MI. Chloe is an amazing 2-year-old who has been diagnosed with Spinal Muscular Atrophy Type 1 and given a fatal prognosis. She has a tremendous will to live and is actually recovering, defying the prognosis she was initially given. Her family’s faith has been an inspiration to me and I’m just trying to give something back.

Read about Chloe’s journey at www.AllgloryB2God.com.

Portraits are on-location or at your home.
Minimum donation: $40 for first custom-edited image, $10 for each additional image.
Archival Prints are at cost.

All proceeds will go directly to Chloe’s family.

If you want to be part of the miracle, drop me a line in the form below and I’ll schedule a portrait session with you.

Pledge amount so far: $520

UPDATE: Erica Spencer will be taking pictures for Chloe in the Lansing area in December 2007. She is a fantastic photographer so this is a great, win-win opportunity. SIGN UP NOW by filling out this form.

UPDATE2: Here’s a quick portfolio of my work for those of you in the Denver area. For those of you in the Lansing area, please see Erica’s portrait portfolio.

About Valerie Robinson

Oct 13th, 2007 by Valerie | 0

You’ve stumbled onto the portfolio of Valerie Robinson, a portrait photographer who specializes in custom-edited art images. I use mostly natural light and like to emphasize people’s eyes starting with carefully chosen lighting and in-camera mechanics and then by artistically finishing each image by hand digitally.

I moved into photography after starting my career working with language as an editor. Inspired by my own children, I chose to focus on portraits of babies, children, and families. My first full-time job is to stay at home while my children are young, but I do 1 to 2 portrait sessions a month upon request.

Thanks for stopping by. Feel free to drop a suggestion or comment!
